Guidance from grandfather (Tokuzo Kawakami: graduated from martial arts school, Kendo Hanshi 8th Dan), father (Takashi Kawakami: graduated from Kansai University, Kendo Kyoushi 7th Dan, known as Nagashima in the Kendo world, who has accomplished various feats) After that, my father and I worked together to teach many students, and over the course of my father’s 45 years and I, for 30 years, we have trained many kendo practitioners with a focus on the basics of kendo.
I would like to pass on Kawakami Kendo, a martial art of kendo from ancient Japan, which is now almost forgotten, not only to people in Japan, but also to people overseas.
I firmly believe that the basic movements of kendo teach the basics that are important in society.
